Atalanta through to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia

Atalanta came from behind to beat Milan 2-1 in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Tuesday.

Rafael Leao put Milan ahead in the first half, but Atalanta equalised through Teun Koopmeiners in the second half. Koopmeiners then scored the winner in extra-time to send Atalanta through to the semi-finals.

The match was a close contest, with both sides having chances to win. Milan had the better of the first half, and Leao's goal gave them a deserved lead. However, Atalanta came out strong in the second half and Koopmeiners' equaliser gave them a lifeline.

The match went into extra-time, and it was Koopmeiners who proved to be the hero for Atalanta. The Dutch midfielder scored the winner in the 105th minute to send Atalanta through to the semi-finals.

Atalanta will now face Fiorentina in the semi-finals. The first leg will be played on April 5, with the second leg taking place on April 26.
